Year of the Arts in Education
On February 17th, Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham signed a proclamation Designating the 2025-2026 School year the "New Mexico year of the arts in education". Â
This historic recognition reaffirms our shared belief that the arts are essential in shaping creative, innovative and well-rounded individuals. This will serve as a powerful platform to celebrate, elevate, and expand arts education in schools and communities across our state. More details about upcoming events and initiatives will be shared soon.Â

About Us
The New Mexico Art Education Association (NMAEA) is a 501c3 non-profit membership-based organization of volunteers, created by art educators for art educators, from all grade levels, from across our state of New Mexico. Our membership is comprised of visual art, digital art, and design educators Prek-12, in public, charter and private schools as well as higher ed professors, museum educators, and arts administrators.
