NMAEA offers several ways for members and nonmembers to engage in the Arts Education community through Interest Groups. Interest Groups offer a specialized and tailored experience to help educators network with other like minded educators.
Jewelry and Metals
Interest Group Dues- $30
NMAEA Member Dues- $30 $15
The Jewelry & Metals (JaM) Interest Group aims to bring together art educators and makers in New Mexico to explore the world of jewelry education and metalwork possibilities.
JaM main goals are to:
1. Make jewelry education more accessible in New Mexico
2. Offer chances for members to grow and lead
3. Increase knowledge about jewelry history, design, ethics and techniques
4. Connect jewelry to culture, rituals, and contemporary issues of adornment
We'll work with local and national jewelry organizations in order to make these goals happen. There are endless paths to explore in jewelry education, and we can't wait to see what magic happens when these paths overlap and come together!
