The New Mexico Art Education Association (NMAEA), in conjunction with the national Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, is proud to present the annual statewide New Mexico Scholastic Art Competition. This awards program continues to be the longest-running, most prestigious recognition program for creative teens in the U.S., and the largest source of scholarships for young artists and writers.​

 

Over 185,000 works of art and writing are annually submitted in numerous categories by teens in grades 7-12 nationwide. Each year more than 1,500 receive national awards and are celebrated on stage at Carnegie Hall in New York City.​
