eLEMENTARY DIVISION

Elementay Art Education in NM is VIBRANT! It is uniquely funded from the Fine Arts Education Act (FAEA) since 2003, wherein a separate legislative line item provides a 1% tax on oil and gas sales to all arts programming statewide, in grades K-6. Currently approx $53m is being provided to approx 165,000 students in districts and charters that request the funding, It is not a grant although often referred to as such, and is manged through NM Public Education Department.
